Thermal equilibrium
Thermal equilibrium
When there are Variation in temperature from point to point of an isolated system the temperature at very point has changed with time. This rate of change degrees and eventually stop. When no further changes are observed the system in said to be in thermal equilibrium.
Laws of thermodynamics:-
Zeroth law of thermodynamics:-
This law states that when two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with a third body they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other.
First law of thermodynamics:-
These laws state that the heat and mechanical work are mutually convertible. To this law definite amount of mechanical work is needed to produce a definite amount of heat and vice versa.
this law also state that the energy can neither be created not destroyed, through it can be transformed from one form to another. According to this law the energy due to heat supplied mast be balance by the external work done plus the gain in internal energy due to rise in temperature,,,
Q = W + E
Second law of thermodynamics:-
This law states that there is a limit to the amount of mechanical energy which can be obtained from a given quantity of heat energy.
according to Celsius home main bi stated as" impossible for a self acting machine working in a cycle process to transfer heat from a body at a lower temperature to a body at a higher temperature without the aid of an external agency"
The second law of thermodynamics has also been stated by Kelvin planks as" possible to construct an engine working on a cycle process whose purpose is to convert energy in to work". According to this statement the second law of thermodynamics is some it also law of degradiation of energy.
